Project Convergence is being presented as an infrastructure project, but it is much bigger than one job or one simple plan. It is a long-term project meant to build an independent network that the Faceless can use for future major operations. Parts of this system have already been built in secret. Now, the people in the room are being brought in to help build the next stage. Project Convergence is based on expanding relay nodes across the state. These relay nodes work together as part of one larger system. Each node helps with communication, timing, power, and network connection. On their own, the nodes are limited. But once they are connected together, they become something much more useful. The project has four phases and eight relays. The four main parts of the project are: Relay hardware acquisition, synchronization recovery, power infrastructure, and final alignment. Every upcoming mission connects to one of those parts. The crew is not being sent on random jobs. Each operation is one piece of the larger machine. The first mission is Operation First Light. Operation First Light focused on getting the relay hardware. This mission has already been completed last night. The second mission is Operation Shadow Grid. Today at 4pm EST. Shadow Grid is focused on synchronization recovery. The goal is to find and recover important synchronization systems that are hidden inside unknown containers. Charlie makes it clear that this mission is not a simple “go in, shoot security, grab the item, and leave” job. The information they have is incomplete. Some of it may be wrong. Some leads may go nowhere. The Shadow Grid team will need to investigate the intelligence they recover, figure out possible storage locations, send teams to the container sites, confirm which containers are correct, break through the container security, recover the synchronization hardware, and bring everything back to the engineering division. The important items they are looking for include a synchronization core unit, timing reference module, phase alignment interface, frequency synchronizer, network time distribution unit, and diagnostic interface system. These parts will be used to build Node Charlie and Node Delta. Charlie explains that this mission is for people who can think. It may not involve as much shooting or police resistance as the other jobs, but it requires problem-solving, tracking clues, and following evidence. The people assigned to this job need to be smart, patient, and focused.
